River Valley Technologies was founded in 1988 by Kaveh Bazargan, a physicist and pioneer in display holography, whose passion and ability for enhancing research communication led to the creation of the company’s  innovative publishing solutions.

Kaveh now dedicates his time to leading the RVT Innovation Hub, working on developing future publishing solutions that address the threats and opportunities within the scholarly ecosystem. He continues to be an advisor to RVT and is a regular speaker and contributor of thought leadership across the industry.

Our business operations are overseen by Maryam Bazargan, who joined River Valley Technologies in 2013. With over two decades in digital publishing and product development, Maryam brings a  strategic vision to the company, building on her early work in delivering digital products to clients.

At the core of River Valley is a talented, 100-strong team based in the UK and India, dedicated to engineering, product development, project management and customer success. Collectively, our team brings decades of experience in scholarly publishing, with deep expertise in LaTeX and XML-based workflows. Our commitment to long-term client partnerships and high employee retention ensures continuity, in-depth industry knowledge, and a shared dedication to advancing research communication.
